Flock contract cancelled — July 30, 2026: At the request of Select Board Chairman, the Littleton Police Department (LPD) accessed the Flock platform to verify status. It was discovered that five of six cameras had been reactivated by Flock Safety, with no notification to the town. The Select Board were notified and immediately requested Littleton Electric Light Department (LELD) turn the breaker off to each camera. As of this afternoon, LELD confirmed turning off the camera power. Select Board Chairman Wilson and the Select Board then directed Town Counsel to initiate cancellation of the contract with Flock Safety and directed the Town Administrator to coordinate the removal of the six cameras on public ways with DPW.

After deploying at least five Flock cameras in Littleton, on May 12, 2026, the Select Board decided to temporarily disable the cameras to allow “time to review the technology, better understand the available system features and operational capabilities, and evaluate policy considerations before any future decisions are made.”
As of July 22, 2026, the cameras are still disabled (power disconnected) according to the town administrator’s office.
While this is a positive step in the right direction, it is not permanent removal. Contact the Select Board to indicate your support for permanent contract cancellation and no further deployment of surveillance technology.
